"Votes for Women" was the official weekly newspaper of the Women's Social and Political Union led by Emmeline Pankhurst. It was published from 1907 until 1912 and edited and financed by husband and wife team, Emmeline and Frederick Pethick-Lawrence. This unusual tote bag is based on a poster design by Hilda Dallas and shows a deliberately elegant-looking woman selling the newspaper (probably to counter negative misogynistic propaganda .
