Lisa Bowerman is Cavewoman and her remarkable tale of buying a tourist attraction cave in the Yorkshire Dales was featured in TV's The Hotel Inspector in 2023, following an amazing set of fundraising efforts that saw her raffle off her property in Pateley Bridge and her prized possession of her and her partner's motorhome to keep staff employed and the caves open after Covid.
Lisa and partner Nick slept in the caves with no heating for 105 hours in tribute to cave explorer Geoff Workman who stayed 105 days in 1963 to raise greater awareness of their attraction that dates back millions of years and was once, incredibly, situated on the Equator.
Lisa is incredibly proud of having created a legacy not only for her family, as her son Oliver is soon to take over the business, but also for current and future generations of visitors to an attraction that was recently in Trip Advisor's Top 10 in the world. Oliver is currently aiming to open up new caves at Stump Cross for the first time in 25 years.
This is the story of a woman's passion for her family, of her belief in herself and what she has had to do in order to survive, her continual commitment to children's education and how she has reinvented herself as a modern-day Cavewoman.
