How can you fight something if you don’t know it exists?

We live under an ideology that preys on every aspect of our lives: our education and our jobs; our healthcare and our leisure; our relationships and our mental wellbeing; the planet we inhabit – the very air we breathe. So pervasive has it become that, for most people, it has no name. It seems unavoidable, like a natural law.

But trace it back to its roots, and we discover that it is neither inevitable nor immutable. It was conceived, propagated, and then concealed by the powerful few. Our task is to bring it into the light — and to build a new system that is worth fighting for.

Neoliberalism. Do you know what it is?

This book will leave scared once you realise your life is in the hands of evil men, and few women. It deconstructs how we governed and how societies in the Western World are violated by pressure groups, lobbyists and think tank secret societies. Poorer countries and it’s not a secret some were made poor by the constant looting of modern empires, also suffer as a knock on effect of of the malicious Neoliberal virus . Most of us know why the few who govern us suck our blood but this book really puts the fingers on the source of the pains and unveils its multi faced, multi layered doctrine. I thought I knew of Friedrich Hayek from a podcast I enjoyed hugely but this book totally takes it to a different level and opened my eyes to what philosophy and ideas when they fall into the wrong hands, so to speak, they are as dangerous if not more catastrophic than atomic bombs because the effects are long lasting for generations.

Excellent description of the birth of capitalism and neoliberalism and the way they have permeated our lives. I could not have defined neoliberalism before I read this, I can now.

This book explained the essence of a prevalent, destructive branch of political thinking. The book is also light weight and with a clear font. Hurray

A riveting read about the rise of neoliberalism and the damage left in its wake. Essential reading for anyone seeking answers to the crippling social injustice that’s enveloping our world.
